An original children’s storytelling project in development.
It began as a soft whisper, a rustling that slipped through the emerald woodlands. The sound grew into a mournful howl. Rain followed, heavy and relentless, drumming the forest until the ground thickened and burrows flooded. Animals huddled as The Great Forest trembled beneath the storm’s roar. For days and nights the storm raged. When it finally passed, the forest was changed.
In the aftermath, the grey squirrels, led by the mighty Granite, took control. They built The Thicket to protect the forest from future harm. Nuts were rationed. Rules were enforced. Order replaced colour. Safety replaced freedom. The forest survived, but something vital was lost.
At the moment fear begins to rule the forest, Vincent returns. A wandering artist who has spent years happily exploring the wider world, Vincent Squirrel brings colour, fragrance, and mischief back into a world turned grey, reminding the forest that safety without imagination is no life at all for a spirited squirrel.
“The bravest thing I ever did was stay colourful when everything else turned grey.”
